Clinical Information Centre (CiC) is a computer-based program designed to be used chair-side to help you explain dentistry. This tool enables you to interact at a level of complexity suitable for each individual patient so that they understand your treatment proposals and give their informed consent.

“A picture paints a thousand words” and CiC uses high quality 3D animations, patient information leaflets and clinical photographs to make this process fast and effective.

140 High Quality 3D Animations – The program covers 140 topics with animations which are very realistic, but without being threatening to the patient.

Patient Information Leaflets

• A Huge Range - There are over 100 patient information leaflets in the range, covering not just everyday topics, but a wide range of treatments and conditions.
  
  
• Children's Leaflets - There are a range of leaflets specifically targeted at children. Split into age groups, these leaflets deal with oral health issues and include activity sheets for younger children.
  
  
• Acts As A Reminder - Many of the leaflets contain stills from the animation sequences and therefore reinforce what the patient has seen and heard in the surgery.
  
  
• Personalise Leaflets - The leaflets can be edited and personalised by adding logos, photos, phone numbers, opening times etc. if you wish.
  
  
• Print or e-email - Leaflets can be printed out in mono or colour and can even be emailed to patients so that the material can be discussed at home with family and friends.
  
  
• Add Your Own - You can store your own documents in the system's library making them easily accessible.

  Images & Dental Clipart

• Wide Range - Hundreds of before and after photographs are available for you to illustrate the benefits of proposed treatment plans.
   
• Patient Education - The photo gallery can be used to educate patients in dental care and hygiene (and the consequences of poor oral healthcare where necessary).
   
• Dental Clipart - The range also includes stills from the 3D animations, signs and posters for use in the practice.
   
• Use in Other Documents - The images can be used in other documents, such as the patient information leaflets, your practice brochure and treatment proposals.
   
• Stills in Combination - Still images from the library can be selected and displayed in any order, one being overlaid on another - particularly useful for before and after photographs.

Build Presentation Sequences

• Save Time - You can create your own presentation sequences to include any combination of animations, photographs and leaflets. This will save you time in the surgery and will present the options in a clear and professional manner.

Draw on Animations and Photo's

• Highlights - CiC allows you to pause animations and draw on them so you can highlight particular points
  
  
• Print & Save - You can print out your sketches or save them in a library for later use.
  
  
• Clinical Photos - In the same way, you can draw on any of the photographs supplied with the program or those which you add to the program yourself.

Systems Integration

• Leading Edge - Working closely with the leading practice management system suppliers, CiC has been designed to interface seamlessly into their systems.
   
• Legal Considerations - Whenever you show a patient an animation, leaflet or still image, the system records this information. This means that the details of topics shown to a patient are transferred automatically to the patient's record. The date, time and duration of each topic are recorded.

Older Practice Management Systems can also receive this information electronically from CiC while those without computerised patient records can print a report for storage in the record card.

• Skip to Leaflets and Stills - A single mouse click will take you from an animation sequence to the corresponding leaflet or photograph.
   
• Organise Your Own Leaflets and Photographs - You can catalogue your own practice leaflets and the images from your inter-oral camera by adding them to "My Leaflets" and "My Stills".

Packed Full of Functionality

• Customisation - The whole look of CiC can be customised to suit your practice. Screen colours, logos, the text that accompanies each animation, the photo libraries and the patient leaflets can all be changed to create a unique experience for the patient.
   
• Help! - CiC includes comprehensive hypertext help that will take you step-by-step through all the features of the program - there's online help too, direct to our support team.
   
• Unattended Play - The screen saver feature allows the animations you choose to play automatically - ideal for the patient waiting for their anaesthetic to take effect.
   
• Reporting - The system records information about which animations and leaflets are being used. Very useful to compare your results with those of your colleagues.
