Patient Journey - Planning and communicating
As dentists, we have a clear understanding of how
treatments, procedures and appointments relate to one
another to form a journey through our practice - but
often, patients do not and
misunderstandings can arise.
|
A pictorial representation of the patient’s treatment
Even with short, simple courses patients can get confused about
who, when and where treatments will occur and when stage payments
are required. Complex cases, with choices which aren’t necessarily
made until some way through the course, will challenge even the most
considered of patients. Now there is a new way to quickly and simply
keep the patient in the picture using our ‘Patient Journey’
software. Patient Journey is a specialised flowcharting tool which
will allow you to rapidly identify the important steps for the
patient, produce an impressive ‘Journey’ for the patient to take
away and satisfy your obligations to keep them informed.

 |
Three easy steps to professional communication of your treatment
plan.
-
Just select the steps you require from the supplied gallery
which are pre-illustrated and have relevant text.
-
Customise the steps by indicating payments,
times, dates and modifying the text where necessary.
-
Print the journey selecting your desired print
options. It couldn’t be simpler!

Patient Journey is both rich in features and highly
flexible. It is designed to cope with an infinite variety of
patients and their treatment courses. Innovative yet based on years
of experience, Journey can be used to suit the way you practice and
to re-enforce the message you wish to convey to the individual
patient. Journey offers you the facility to record the ‘Journey’ in
the patient’s notes within your practice management system to provide an audit of your communication.
Use animations to explain the steps
If you use Journey in conjunction with CiC, you can ‘call’ CiC
animations to help you explain particular steps e.g. when showing a
step on a bridge, you can call a bridge animation.
Outstanding quality, in seconds
As you produce the Journey you can add ‘Options’. Things that
you and/or the patient will need to decide as the course proceeds.
These options are clearly marked on the Journey and are
automatically organised to ’best fit’ on the printed page.

“It makes a big difference
to the patient’s perception
of what will take place.
This is the first time that
a treatment plan has
been built around a
patient’s perspective of
what they may expect.”

What is actually produced ?

A pictorial journey, which may run to several pages.
Treatment options are clearly marked, A,B,C etc. and the key is
generated automatically according to the features you have chosen.
Optionally you can elect to print a long text description of each
step. You can modify the text used either for the individual patient
or for all future patients in order to save time. Both this and the
pictorial page may be customised with your logo. If you use our CiC
patient education program, the patient Journey will automatically
select the patient leaflets relevant to the treatment course and
print those to compliment the journey. A sample
treatment proposal can be viewed
here.
A journey that patients can really follow

“It makes a big difference to the patient’s perception of what
will take place. This is the first time that a treatment plan has
been built around a patient’s perspective of what they may expect.”
Patient Journey can run stand-alone or alongside all Windows
based PMS systems. Journeys can be stored inside the patient's record
when the PMS accepts .jpg attachments such as intra-oral photographs
or XRays.
Patient Journey requires a PC running MS-Windows 98 SE or above.
A minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600. A colour printer is
strongly recommended. |
